Laughing Baby

For some reason, this video always makes me laugh. The baby's laugh is so distinct, it sounds as if the baby's laugh is already matured. I just love how the baby laughs at the most simplest sounds that people make.

Class Blogs

In Will's blog, I found an interestingly creative video of a man making art out of a small cup of capuchino. I think Capuchino art is a very unique way to attract customers. It made me want to learn how to design capuchinos just as the guy in the video did.

Also, in Sebastian's blog, I liked how he posted a really funny commercial that advertised Starburst's Berries and Cream. I agreed with what he said, "I just feel that everyone has to see it." Like Sebastian, I also thought everyone should see this commercial as well since it is a hilariously entertaining commercial.

In Alonzo's blog, I found a really interesting video once again, this time, it's about futuristic gadgets that could truly make your life easier. As I watched the video, it made me realize just how futuristic our world is getting every day. Someday, I would love to have one of those gadgets featured in the video.

In Angelina's blog, I liked how she included pictures of what she thought her family was. I thought this was a very creative way of expressing her definition of what a family can be.

Just like in Angelina's blog, I thought it was also creative how Julian posted a picture of what he thought family was. In his blog, he gave a detailed explanation as to what he truly thought about his family. He thought his family, "are the people that love and care for me and look out for me." To me, that's how I define family as well.

Podomatic Podcasts

Today, I listened to several students' podcasts. In Julian's podcast, he included some detailed information about Halo 3, along with the positives and negatives associated with the video game as well. He also mentioned the video game's accomplishments and his personal opinions concerning his topic. I thought he did a great job since he made his podcast seem as if he was the DJ of a radio station. I also liked how he advertised and mentioned certain important dates that were associated with the product.

Another podcast I liked was Angelina's. Angelina's podcast includes the consequences and basic information of smoking and doing drugs. I liked how she tried to encourage people to say NO to smoking and drugs as well. Her podcast also contains a helpful website to gain more information and help about drugs and the dangers of smoking.

Podcast Experience

I liked how the podcast directory could easily be navigated since it categorized the different sets of podcasts it has available. It was great how you could get every podcast you wanted with no fees required. Podcasting is a great way of getting some in-depth information you want on certain topics that are free of charge. It also doesn't require much experience to function properly. I use Itunes regularly but don't pay much attention to the podcast icon. Now that podcasting has been introduced to me, I'd actually consider downloading some onto my Ipod.

Family

A family can be loving, trustworthy, entertaining, humorous, strict, thoughtful, supportive, and so much more. Not one family in this world is perfect. All families come with different types of flaws that actually help blossom our families' relationships. My family consists of my dad, Leo, my mom, Anna, and my younger sister, Krizelle. There's barely any moment that my family goes through harsh arguments; even if we did, we would just be arguing about the funniest topics you'd ever think about. You may think this is peculiar, but believe it or not, my parents still act as if they were my age. At times, my sister and I think that we are much maturer than our own parents.

Families don't always consist only of your parents and their offsprings; in fact, your closest friends could also be a part of your family. Just like your main family, they could provide the love and support that you need to go through your daily life. In addition, they also bear flaws in their personalities that, at times, could lead to fights.

Copyright

Copyright is a law enforced to protect any literary and artistic work. We have copyrighting because it is necessary for artists to get credit where credit is due. It would be unfair for them if someone else used their idea and had gotten credit, even if the idea didn’t originate from them.

The copyright law protects literary works, music and lyrics, movies, graphics, sound recordings, and architectural works.

What is Family?

In my opinion, a family can be anyone that truly loves and cares for you no matter what. A family can range from your own loving circle of relatives and even to your well-trusted circle of friends. It could also range from your household pets to your hated neighbors as well. A family can be absolutely anyone that has left an imprint in your life, whether it may be big or small, good or bad, they could still impact your life.

My main family circle includes my parents, my younger sister, as well as my close relatives. They often keep me on my feet and joyously entertained 24/7. A circle of friends could be considered family as well. Typically, they provide the same love and care as your main family does, just with a slight difference.

My family circle doesn't have as much of a variety as my circle of friends. I don't think it really matters whether or not there is a variety of people in a family, either way, the results would still be the same. Although there is not much of a variety in my main family, there is still a great variety of generations between my family members. To think about it, I believe my mom's side of the family have a total of four generations currently living.

The quote, "Families evolve from a patchwork of possibilities", is meant to explain the various possibilities that could result in forming a family. It helps people realize that forming any type of family could work in various ways.

School_______________ Grade________ Age Male_____ Female_____

1.How would you define community?
2. Would you say you are involved with your school and community?
3. If you are, then in what ways are you involved? (for eg. religious purposes, charity, afterschool sports, extracurricular activites etc.)
4. How can you or others get involved?
5. What will be a good motivation?
6. What would be your purpose to get more involved in the community?
7. Do you think peer-pressure would influence your decision to get more involved in your community? Why or why not?
8. Would you like to become involved with the community and school?
9. Several adolescents are concerned with managing their time. Do you think this is one of the basic factors why most teenagers decide not to be involved with their community? Why or why not?

An Overlook of the Project

Overall, I thought this project made me more experienced with editing videos on a computer. I learned so much from our selected topic. I never knew that there are actually teenagers out there that are against getting involved in their own school and communities. Our topic made me realize what I could possibly do to get more involved as I am now. It also made me think of what activities I could possibly be involved in in the near future. For now, I'm only involved in one after school activity, which is Softball. For awhile, I was also involved in a newly proposed teenage health center here in Capuchino, but since I failed to attend one of their meetings, they thought I was no longer interested and stopped sending me information about when and where the meetings were held anymore. Making the movie was a bit frustrating since my computer kept on freezing on me once again, just like my last experience with my final project last semester. There was a point when I was so close to finishing, but due to my bad luck, the computer froze and I was forced to restart the computer and edit the parts of the movie again. If Angelina and I were to make any changes to make our project better, we would've recorded our interviews in a closed space so that we could avoid any distractions with sound. If we had more time, we could've taken pictures of our surveyors as well and edited the whole movie on a Mac computer rather than any regular PC.

Finishing Touches

Over the break, Angelina and I managed to talk a bit more about what we should do to sum up our project. Due to the lack of time, we couldn't get as much pictures of our surveyors so we just decided to leave the pictures off and just stick with the videos since the videos itself took more than 4 minutes already. Today, we also decided on adding a graph to explain whether students were for or against getting involved in their school and community. We got numerable responses from students that were in favor of getting involved. In fact, there were 66.7% of the entire surveyors that we found were in favor of getting involved while there were only 33.3% of the other students that found this topic discouraging.

Treatment

Our project includes the voluntary participation of young adults within the ages of 13-18. Our topic question for is: "What will motivate young adults to become more involved with their school and their community?" We want to be able to learn ideas from the students and adults in our own community. If we get enough good input maybe we will be able to share these ideas with the leaders of the community. One way to figure out the input of young adults is through creating a well-structured survey. We thought that by creating a survey, we would be able to get our own perspective on how well students are involved in their own communities. We just hope that the surveyors' opinions on this topic would be taken in a serious matter.

Along with the survey we will include graphs, pictures, video clips, an I-movie, and other sources we use for references besides people. Through all of these references, we would be able to attain the justified amount of information to draw out a final conclusion on our topic. Believe it or not, we are both looking forward to seeing the results. We thought that this survey would also help and give us more information on how and what we both could do to get more involved in our own communities. We could even use the results to our own extent; whether we would decide to follow some of our surveyor‘s suggestions or not. Hopefully our project will be interesting and teach a lot to the society.

Pitfalls & Difficulties

Throughout this project, I think that my partner and I would have to face the uncertain and weak responses of our surveyors. We are afraid that some of the surveyor's responses wouldn't reach the expected criteria of our project. Their responses truly matters the most in order for this project to work out successfully. It's as if we rely on their responses in order for us to take matters into our own hands.

Completed Research Over the Weekend

Over the weekend, Angelina and I talked a bit about our project and what we would consider doing first. We also asked students close to or around our age to see what they thought of our topic. We were impressed that a number of the students came up with great responses towards the topic we chose. At first, we didn't think they'd actually be interested and give us some helpful responses; we expected more of negative comments than positive ones. Some students, however, thought that it would be difficult to persuade some adolescents to pursue their peers into getting involved in their community.

Topic Selection

My partner for this project is Angelina. We would be concentrating on young adults within the ages of 13-18 concerning their involvement in their communities. Our topic question is: "What would motivate adolescents to become more involved with their school and their community?" We were both planning on videotaping some of our surveyors as we interview them about the different kinds of possibilities young adults would consider taking just so that they would get more involved in their own communities. We were also planning on making an I-movie so that we could add some pictures mixed in with video clips of our interviews. If we could, we also planned on making a graph on the computer once we get our overall results.
